Description
Automatic breakout doors are designed to ensure the rapid and safe evacuation of people during emergencies such as fires. These doors open outward to a 90-degree angle when pressure is applied in the direction of the exit, or they utilize an alternative method known as redundancy to facilitate evacuation.
In many instances, particularly in the event of a fire, the rapid evacuation of individuals is crucial. Due to the structure of certain buildings, standard doors may be the only option for providing emergency exits. When breakout opening features are required for these standard doors and a photo-cell automatic sliding door is to be used, a special mechanical device is installed. This device deactivates the automation and allows the doors to swing open to a 90-degree angle in the direction of escape when pushed. Under normal conditions, these automatic sliding doors with breakout escape features are aesthetically indistinguishable from standard installations and can be comfortably utilized in any setting.
Breakout Opening Feature for Sliding Panels:
If the effective passage width created by the opening of the sliding panels during a breakout situation is sufficient or if there are no fixed panels, the breakout opening feature is applied only to the movable panels, allowing them to swing open to a 90-degree angle.
Combined Breakout Opening Feature with Fixed Panels:
In cases where the effective passage width created solely by the movable panels is insufficient during a breakout situation, or for special circumstances outside of emergencies, such as allowing vehicles to pass through in an auto showroom, fixed panels can also be equipped with the breakout opening feature. This enables all panels, both fixed and movable, to swing open freely to a 90-degree angle, ensuring unobstructed passage.
