Similar to the Tournex model, the Duotour model is also a high-capacity automatic revolving door solution. While it primarily functions as a double-wing revolving door, it offers the unique option of transforming into a sliding door mode via a control panel, where the rotating wings are fixed at the door axis to provide access through the automatic sliding door in the center. The central sliding door feature is optional, and it is also possible to configure the door for 90-degree breakout openings.

Designed by Boon Edam engineers as early as the 1900s, the Duotour model offers more than just a revolving door. Achieving the free passage widths typically provided by automatic sliding door or circular swing door would usually require extraordinarily large revolving doors. The Duotour model was conceived to address this specific need. In revolving door mode, it serves the insulation function by separating the interior and exterior environments, while in sliding door or circular swing door mode, it can accommodate the passage of large items, including even vehicles.
These remarkable features make the Duotour model the most functional automatic revolving door for any building entrance. Boon Edam engineers have not stopped at just combining these unique features but have also added an elegant and practical touch by transforming the end caps of the wings into display showcases, enhancing the door’s aesthetic appeal and utility.
Duotour AS – Sliding Door Combination Double-Wing Revolving Door:
The Duotour AS model combines a photocell automatic sliding door with a double-wing revolving door. Since there is no central column or shaft to support the wings, the entire wing mechanism is suspended from the ceiling, and the automation rotates the ceiling. This design allows a photocell automatic sliding door mechanism, which is concealed within the canopy and rotates continuously with the ceiling in revolving door mode, to be hidden inside. When needed, by switching to sliding door mode, the curved showcases that close the door openings lock into position parallel to the curved fixed side panels. Subsequently, when locked in revolving door mode, the photocell door wings that form the central fixed part are released and open as a result of motion detection by the sensors. If necessary, the open position can be selected to allow ventilation or passage of items. Thanks to these features, your revolving door can be transformed into a regular photocell sliding door within seconds whenever desired.
That’s not all… The Duotour automation contains a self-charging uninterruptible power supply, which ensures that in emergencies, with signals from fire alarms or similar systems, the wings automatically become fixed in a position parallel to the facade even if the power is cut off. This allows the sliding door to open and provides an unobstructed escape route in the open position.
Duotour AC – Panic Folding System Double-Wing Revolving Door:
Another model of the Duotour, the AC type, is equipped with a panic-opening mechanical mechanism in the central fixed section, allowing it to be used as a manually operable door that opens circularly in both directions from the center.
The door wings forming the central section can be used like a normal door with hydraulic door closers hidden within the canopy. As with the AS model, it can be aligned automatically with the facade axis when connected to a fire alarm panel, supported by an emergency battery. However, since the central section does not contain any automation, the door wings can only be used manually, unlike the AS model.
